History WIP

    The UFSR Vlast was originally a collection of colonies that were established in then Russian-owned Alaska. They were set up to compete with other world empires. The colonies were a joint effort by some eastern European countries, mainly funded by Russia, Poland, Finland, and Austria-Hungary. Thousands of immigrants from Poland, Russia, Finland, the Ukraine, Romania, and the Balkans were sent to Kotzebue Sound, and establishing a dozen or so colonies.

    At the outbreak of World War I, and with the dissolution of the Russian Empire, the colonies found themselves abandoned by Europe. The technology did not exist at the time for the colonies to fully support themselves, and the population dwindled to as low as 30,000 from a period from 1915 to 1955. The colonies become loosely confederated city-states during this time. The scarcity of food drove the colonies toward more social tendencies than capitalist, and to this day outright capitalism is widely viewed as destructive.

    In 1950, the confederated colonies, began to move closer together in their political spheres, faced with the possibility of Soviet Russian imperialism, The same year, geothermal power replaced wood-burning power plants in the amount of electricity generated. A plant in Soyuzagorsk supplied the a large minority of the colonies with power.

    In 1955, a joint venture in the colonies created one of the first hydroponics farms in the world. The colonies began to move away from dependency on foreign powers on food security.

    1970, the colonies sign the Norvadnaya Protocol, making an official loosely confederated union. Imagine the EU.
 
    ~1997, The colonies unite under the Unification Accords, and formally create the UFSR Vlast. Little outside contact is made so as not to provoke outside powers. The Constitution of Vlast is drafted.
